Palo Alto GlobalProtect Agent <= 4.1.0 Information Disclosure (Windows)

low Nessus Plugin ID 138335

Synopsis

A VPN client installed on remote Windows host is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability.

Description

The version of Palo Alto GlobalProtect Agent installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 4.1.1. It is, therefore, affected by an information disclosure vulnerability. Successful exploitation of this issue would allow a local authenticated attacker to access authentication and/or session tokens and replay them to spoof the VPN session and gain access as the user. The endpoint would already have to be compromised and have the ability inspect memory for obtaining these tokens.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Palo Alto GlobalProtect Agent 4.1.1, or later
