Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The BIG-IP Edge Client Windows Stonewall driver does not sanitize the pointer received from the userland.A local user on the Windows client system can send crafted DeviceIoControl requests to a \\.\urvpndrv device causing the Windows kernel to crash.(CVE-2020-5898)

Impact

This vulnerability allows malicious local users to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) on the client Windows system.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K69154630.
