MySQL Enterprise Monitor 4.0.11.x < 4.0.12.5341 / 8.0.18.x < 8.0.20.1227(Apr 2020 CPU)

high Nessus Plugin ID 138039

Synopsis

A web application running on the remote host is affected by a session fixation vulnerability.

Description

According to its self-reported version, the MySQL Enterprise Monitor application running on the remote host is 4.0.11.x prior to 4.0.12.5341 or 8.0.18.x prior to 8.0.20.1227. It is, therefore, affected by a session fixation vulnerability. An unauthenticated, remote attacker could exploit this to steal the session of a valid user and perform actions in their name.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MySQL Enterprise Monitor version 4.0.12.5341 / 8.0.20.1227 or later as referenced in the April Oracle CPU
