SynopsisA virtualization appliance installed on the remote host is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability.
DescriptionThe version of VMware vCloud Director installed on the remote host is 9.1.x prior to 18.104.22.168, 9.5.x prior to 22.214.171.124, 9.7.x prior to 126.96.36.199, or 10.0.x prior to 10.0.0.2. It is, therefore, affected by a code injection vulnerability due to a failure to properly handle input. A remote, authenticated actor can exploit this, by sending malicious traffic to VMWare Cloud Director, in order to execute arbitrary code.
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
SolutionUpgrade to VMware vCloud Director version 188.8.131.52 / 184.108.40.206 / 220.127.116.11 / 10.0.0.2 or later.
