The remote web application server is affected by an information disclosure vulnerability

Description

The IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is version 9.0.0.0 through 9.0.0.9 prior to 9.0.0.10.
It is, therefore, affected by a information disclosure vulnerability. The vulnerability exists in IBM WebSphere Application Server due to mishandling of data by the application based on an incorrect return by the httpServletRequest#authenticate() API when an unprotected URI is accessed. An unauthenticated, attacker can exploit this to gain information about the system that can be used in future.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to IBM WebSphere Application Server 9.0.0.10, or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH04562.
