Synopsis

A web-based application running on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Adobe ColdFusion installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 2016.x update 15 or 2018.x prior to update 9. It is, therefore, affected by the following vulnerabilities as referenced in the APSB20-18 advisory:

- An application-level denial of service (DoS) vulnerability due to insufficient input validation.
(CVE-2020-3767)

- A privilege escalation vulnerability related to DLL search-order hijacking. (CVE-2020-3768)

- A system file structure disclosure vulnerability due to improper access control. (CVE-2020-3796)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update to Adobe ColdFusion version 2016 update 15 / 2018 update 9 or later.
