F5 Networks BIG-IP : OpenSSH vulnerability (K64292204)

high Nessus Plugin ID 133774

Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of F5 Networks BIG-IP installed on the remote host is prior to 14.1.0-14.1.2. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the K64292204 advisory.

- sshd in OpenSSH before 7.4, when privilege separation is not used, creates forwarded Unix-domain sockets as root, which might allow local users to gain privileges via unspecified vectors, related to serverloop.c. (CVE-2016-10010)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K64292204.
