Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

According to the self reported version of Junos OS on the remote device it is affected by a Denial of Service (DoS) vulnerability. A remote unauthenticated attacker can exploit this, to cause the device's Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) states to transition to Down, resulting in a Denial of Service (DoS) attack.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the relevant Junos software release referenced in Juniper advisory JSA10954
