An application installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities

Description

The version of Apple iTunes installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 12.10.3. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the HT210793 advisory.

 - In libexpat before 2.2.8, crafted XML input could fool the parser into changing from DTD parsing to document parsing too early; a consecutive call to XML_GetCurrentLineNumber (or XML_GetCurrentColumnNumber) then resulted in a heap-based buffer over-read.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Apple iTunes version 12.10.3 or later.
