EMC RSA Authentication Manager < 8.4 Patch 8 XSS (DSA-2019-168)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 132018

Synopsis

An application running on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of EMC RSA Authentication Manager running on the remote host is prior to 8.4 Patch 8 (8.4.0.8). It is, therefore affected by a stored cross-site scripting vulnerability in the Security Console. A malicious, authenticated, remote Security Console administrator can exploit this vulnerability to store arbitrary HTML or JavaScript code through the web interface, which can then be included in a report. When other Security Console administrators open an affected report, injected scripts could be executed in their browser.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to EMC RSA Authentication Manager version 8.4 Patch 8 (8.4.0.8) or later.
