DNN (DotNetNuke) 6.0.0 <= 9.3.2 Multiple Vulnerabilities

medium Nessus Plugin ID 131764

Synopsis

The remote web server contains an .NET application that is affected multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of DNN Platform (formerly DotNetNuke) running on the remote host is 6.0.0 or later but prior or equal to 9.3.2. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities including the following:

- An unauthorized file access vulnerability exists due to insufficient verification of dynamic file types. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, to add or edit files on the remote host without permission.

- An information disclosure vulnerability exists. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, to disclose user account information.

- A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists due to improper validation of user-supplied input before returning it to users. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by convincing a user to click a specially crafted URL, to execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser session.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to DNN Platform version 9.4.1 or later.
