Synopsis

The Symantec SONAR installed on the remote host is affected by a security bypass vulnerability.

Description

The version of Symantec SONAR installed on the remote host is prior to 12.0.2. It is, therefore, affected by a security bypass vulnerability due to a flaw the tamper protection. An authenticated attacker can exploit this, to circumvent tamper protection on the resident system.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Symantec SONAR version 12.0.2 or later.
