high Nessus Plugin ID 130460

Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of tested product installed on the remote host is prior to 12.3X48-D80. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability in the Veriexec subsystem of Juniper Networks Junos OS allowing an attacker to fully compromise the host system. A local authenticated user can elevate privileges to gain full control of the system even if they are specifically denied access to perform certain actions as referenced in the JSA10956 advisory.
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Apply the relevant Junos software release referenced in Juniper advisory JSA10956
