SynopsisThe remote EulerOS host is missing a security update.
DescriptionAccording to the version of the gcc packages installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerability :
- The POWER9 backend in GNU Compiler Collection (GCC) before version 10 could optimize multiple calls of the
__builtin_darn intrinsic into a single call, thus reducing the entropy of the random number generator.
This occurred because a volatile operation was not specified. For example, within a single execution of a program, the output of every __builtin_darn() call may be the same.(CVE-2019-15847)
Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
SolutionUpdate the affected gcc package.
