Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for bind.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2019:1714 advisory.

 - bind: Race condition when discarding malformed packets can cause bind to exit with assertion failure (CVE-2019-6471)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL bind package based on the guidance in RHSA-2019:1714.
