SynopsisThe remote EulerOS Virtualization host is missing multiple security updates.
DescriptionAccording to the versions of the kernel packages installed, the EulerOS Virtualization installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerabilities :
- It was found that paravirt_patch_call/jump() functions in the arch/x86/kernel/paravirt.c in the Linux kernel mishandles certain indirect calls, which makes it easier for attackers to conduct Spectre-v2 attacks against paravirtualized guests.i1/4^CVE-2018-15594i1/4%0
- An issue was discovered in the Linux kernel through 4.19. An information leak in cdrom_ioctl_select_disc in drivers/cdrom/cdrom.c could be used by local attackers to read kernel memory because a cast from unsigned long to int interferes with bounds checking.i1/4^CVE-2018-18710i1/4%0
Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the EulerOS security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.
SolutionUpdate the affected kernel packages.
