Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote macOS host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote macOS host is prior to 72.0.3626.96. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the 2019_02_stable-channel-update-for-desktop advisory.

 - Incorrect handling of deferred code in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 72.0.3626.96 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (CVE-2019-5784)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Google Chrome version 72.0.3626.96 or later.
