Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for firefox.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 7 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2019:0219 advisory.

- Mozilla: Use-after-free parsing HTML5 stream (CVE-2018-18500)

- Mozilla: Memory safety bugs fixed in Firefox 65 and Firefox ESR 60.5 (CVE-2018-18501)

- Mozilla: Privilege escalation through IPC channel messages (CVE-2018-18505)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL firefox package based on the guidance in RHSA-2019:0219.
