New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.
VPR Score: 7.4
SynopsisArbitrary code can be executed on the remote host.
DescriptionThe remote Windows host has a ASN.1 library that is vulnerable to a flaw that could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code on this host.
To exploit this flaw, an attacker would need to send a specially crafted ASN.1 encoded packet (either an IPsec session negotiation, or an HTTPS request) with improperly advertised lengths.
A public code is available to exploit this flaw.
SolutionMicrosoft has released a set of patches for Windows NT, 2000, XP and 2003.
