Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

The version of F5 Networks BIG-IP installed on the remote host is prior to 11.5.9 / 11.6.3.3 / 12.1.3.7 / 13.1.1.2 / 14.0.0.3 / 14.1.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the K17264695 advisory.

- The BGP daemon (bgpd) in all IP Infusion ZebOS versions to 7.10.6 and all OcNOS versions to 1.3.3.145 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service attack via an autonomous system (AS) path containing 8 or more autonomous system number (ASN) elements. (CVE-2018-17539)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K17264695.
