Debian DLA-1589-1 : keepalived security update

critical Nessus Plugin ID 119152

Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security update.

Description

keepalived has a heap-based buffer overflow when parsing HTTP status codes resulting in DoS or possibly unspecified other impact, because extract_status_code in lib/html.c has no validation of the status code and instead writes an unlimited amount of data to the heap.

For Debian 8 'Jessie', this problem has been fixed in version 1:1.2.13-1+deb8u1.

We recommend that you upgrade your keepalived packages.

NOTE: Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding description block directly from the DLA security advisory. Tenable has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible without introducing additional issues.

Solution

Upgrade the affected icecast2 package.
