F5 Networks BIG-IP : MQTT vulnerability (K26583415)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 118647

Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

In certain circumstances, when processing traffic through a Virtual Server with an associated MQTT profile, the TMM process may produce a core file and take the configured HA action. (CVE-2018-15323)

Impact

This vulnerability allows remote attackers to cause a denial-of-service (DoS) on the BIG-IP system. The BIG-IP system temporarily fails to process traffic as it recovers from a Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) restart, and devices configured in a device group may fail over.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K26583415.
