Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

Malformed SPDY or HTTP/2 requests may result in a disruption of service to TMM. Data plane is only exposed when a SPDY or HTTP/2 profile is attached to a virtual server. There is no control plane exposure. (CVE-2017-6155)

Impact

An attacker may be able to disrupt traffic or cause the BIG-IP system to fail over to another device in the device group. This vulnerability affects systems with any of the following configurations :

A virtual server associated with an HTTP/2 profile Note : The HTTP/2 profile was introduced as an experimental profile in BIG-IP 11.6.0, and officially in BIG-IP 12.0.0.

A virtual server associated with a SPDY profile Note : The SPDY profile was introduced in BIG-IP 11.2.0.

Solution

Upgrade to one of the non-vulnerable versions listed in the F5 Solution K10930474.
