high Nessus Plugin ID 108330

Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates for 389-ds-base.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 6 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2018:0515 advisory.

- 389-ds-base: Authentication bypass due to lack of size check in slapi_ct_memcmp function in ch_malloc.c (CVE-2017-15135)

- 389-ds-base: remote Denial of Service (DoS) via search filters in SetUnicodeStringFromUTF_8 in collate.c (CVE-2018-1054)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL 389-ds-base package based on the guidance in RHSA-2018:0515.
