Ubuntu 14.04 LTS / 16.04 LTS / 17.10 : memcached vulnerabilities (USN-3588-1)

Medium Nessus Plugin ID 107148

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Daniel Shapira discovered an integer overflow issue in Memcached. A
remote attacker could use this to cause a denial of service (daemon
crash). (CVE-2017-9951)

It was discovered that Memcached listened to UDP by default. A remote
attacker could use this as part of a distributed denial of service
attack. (CVE-2018-1000115).

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding
description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable
has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible
without introducing additional issues.

Update the affected memcached package.
