high Nessus Plugin ID 106485

Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote Windows host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 64.0.3282.119. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the 2018_01_stable-channel-update-for-desktop_24 advisory.

- Use after free in WebUI in Google Chrome prior to 64.0.3282.119 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted Chrome Extension. (CVE-2018-6054)

- Use after free in PDFium in Google Chrome prior to 64.0.3282.119 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted PDF file. (CVE-2018-6031)

- Insufficient policy enforcement in Blink in Google Chrome prior to 64.0.3282.119 allowed a remote attacker to potentially leak user cross-origin data via a crafted HTML page. (CVE-2018-6032)

- Insufficient data validation in Downloads in Google Chrome prior to 64.0.3282.119 allowed a remote attacker to potentially run arbitrary code outside sandbox via a crafted Chrome Extension. (CVE-2018-6033)

- Insufficient data validation in WebGL in Google Chrome prior to 64.0.3282.119 allowed a remote attacker to perform an out of bounds memory read via a crafted HTML page. (CVE-2018-6034)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Google Chrome version 64.0.3282.119 or later.
