Debian DSA-4072-1 : bouncycastle - security update

medium Nessus Plugin ID 105432
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Hanno Boeck, Juraj Somorovsky and Craig Young discovered that the TLS implementation in Bouncy Castle is vulnerable to an adaptive chosen ciphertext attack against RSA keys.

Upgrade the bouncycastle packages.

For the stable distribution (stretch), this problem has been fixed in version 1.56-1+deb9u1.
