Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 63.0.3239.108. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the 2017_12_stable-channel-update-for-desktop_14 advisory.

- Inappropriate implementation in V8 WebAssembly JS bindings in Google Chrome prior to 63.0.3239.108 allowed a remote attacker to inject arbitrary scripts or HTML (UXSS) via a crafted HTML page. (CVE-2017-15429)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Google Chrome version 63.0.3239.108 or later.
