Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS 6.1.x / 7.0.x < 7.0.18 / 7.1.x < 7.1.12 / 8.0.x < 8.0.4 Network Time Protocol Vulnerability

high Nessus Plugin ID 103222
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote PAN-OS host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

The version of Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS running on the remote host is 6.1.x, 7.0.x prior to 7.0.18, 7.1.x prior to 7.1.12, or 8.0.x prior to 8.0.4. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability in the reslist() function in ntpq/ntpq-subs.c. An attacker can cause a stack-based buffer overflow to cause a denial of service or potentially execute arbitrary code. Note the attacker must be on the management interface to exploit this vulnerability.

Upgrade to Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS version 7.0.18 / 7.1.12 / 8.0.4 or later.
