Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Firefox ESR installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 52.1.1. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the mfsa2017-14 advisory.

- A use-after-free can occur during Buffer11 API calls within the ANGLE graphics library, used for WebGL content. This can lead to a potentially exploitable crash. Note: This issue is in <code>libGLES</code>, which is only in use on Windows. Other operating systems are not affected. (CVE-2017-5031)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Mozilla Firefox ESR version 52.1.1 or later.
