Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for libxml2.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 / 6 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2012:1512 advisory.

- libxml2: Heap-buffer-underflow in xmlParseAttValueComplex (CVE-2012-5134)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL libxml2 package based on the guidance in RHSA-2012:1512.
