Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office OneNote allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally.

The Microsoft OneNote Products are missing security updates. It is, therefore, affected by a remote code execution vulnerability:

  - Heap-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office OneNote allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code     locally. (CVE-2026-55133)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

The version of Microsoft Office for Mac installed on the remote host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the july-14-2026 advisory.

  - Out-of-bounds read in Microsoft Office allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally.

  - Stack-based buffer overflow in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code     locally. (CVE-2026-55141, CVE-2026-55899)

  - Use after free in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to execute code locally.
    (CVE-2026-47642, CVE-2026-54131, CVE-2026-55948)

  - Untrusted pointer dereference in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose     information locally. (CVE-2026-48580, CVE-2026-55138)

  - Out-of-bounds read in Microsoft Office Excel allows an unauthorized attacker to disclose information     locally. (CVE-2026-50408, CVE-2026-54988, CVE-2026-55046, CVE-2026-55122, CVE-2026-55898)
