An issue was discovered in Xen 4.6 through 4.14.x. When acting upon a guest XS_RESET_WATCHES request, not all tracking information is freed. A guest can cause unbounded memory usage in oxenstored. This can lead to a system-wide DoS. Only systems using the Ocaml Xenstored implementation are vulnerable. Systems using the C Xenstored implementation are not vulnerable.

The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available.

According to its self-reported version number, the Xen hypervisor installed on the remote host is affected by a denial of service vulnerability due to a memory leak in XS_RESET_WATCHES. A guest can cause unbounded memory usage in oxenstored to cause the system to stop responding with a system-wide DoS.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
