In Libreswan 3.27 an assertion failure can lead to a pluto IKE daemon restart. An attacker can trigger a NULL pointer dereference by initiating an IKEv2 IKE_SA_INIT exchange, followed by a bogus INFORMATIONAL exchange instead of the normallly expected IKE_AUTH exchange. This affects send_v2N_spi_response_from_state() in programs/pluto/ikev2_send.c that will then trigger a NULL pointer dereference leading to a restart of libreswan.

There are packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability referenced in the following CVE:

  - libreswan: vulnerability in the processing of IKEv1 informational packets due to missing integrity check     (CVE-2019-10155)

  - libreswan: null-pointer dereference by sending two IKEv2 packets (CVE-2019-12312)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

According to the version of the libreswan package installed, the EulerOS installation on the remote host is affected by the following vulnerability :

  - Before 3.28 Libreswan, assertion failure may lead to     Pluto IKE daemon restart.An attacker can through 3     des_cbc mode to send two IKEv2 data to the Libreswan     server (init_IKE and delete_IKE) to trigger a NULL     pointer dereference.Using network security services     (NSS) build time, this will affect the     program/Pluto/ikev2_send     send_v2N_spi_response_from_state in (CVE-2019-12312)
