Affected devices contain a vulnerability that allows an unauthenticated attacker to trigger a denial-of-service condition. The vulnerability can be triggered if a large amount of specially crafted UDP packets are sent to device. The security vulnerability could be exploited by an attacker with network access to the affected systems. Successful exploitation requires no system privileges and no user interaction. An attacker could use the vulnerability to compromise availability of the device. At the time of advisory publication no public exploitation of this security vulnerability was known.

The remote host is a Siemens SIMATIC S7-1200 device. It is, therefore, affected by a denial of service vulnerability.
A denial of service (DoS) vulnerability exists due to improper handling of UDP packets. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this issue, by sending a large amount of specially crafted UDP packets, to cause the device to stop responding.

Note that Nessus has not attempted to exploit this issue but has instead relied only on the device's self-reported version number.
