OpenStack Object Storage (Swift) before 2.3.1 (Kilo), 2.4.x, and 2.5.x before 2.5.1 (Liberty) do not properly close server connections, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (proxy-server resource consumption) via a series of interrupted requests to a Large Object URL.

There are packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability referenced in the following CVE:

  - OpenStack Object Storage (Swift) before 2.3.1 (Kilo), 2.4.x, and 2.5.x before 2.5.1 (Liberty) do not

The remote Ubuntu 14.04 LTS host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the USN-3451-1 advisory.

    It was discovered that OpenStack Swift incorrectly handled tempurls. A remote authenticated user in     possession of a tempurl key authorized for PUT could retrieve other objects in the same Swift account.

    Romain Le Disez and rjan Persson discovered that OpenStack Swift incorrectly closed client connections.
    A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to consume resources, resulting in a denial of service.
