Synopsis :

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Description :

Brian Gorenc discovered that Samba incorrectly calculated array bounds
when handling remote procedure calls (RPC) over the network. A remote,
unauthenticated attacker could exploit this to execute arbitrary code
as the root user. (CVE-2012-1182).

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding

has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible
without introducing additional issues.

Solution :

Update the affected samba package.
