OpenCms < 6.2.2 Authentication Bypass

medium Nessus Network Monitor Plugin ID 3693

Synopsis

The remote host is vulnerable to a flaw that allows for the bypassing of authentication.

Description

The remote host is running OpenCms, an open-source content management system. This version of OpenCms is vulnerable to a remote flaw where attackers can bypass authentication and gain administrative access to accounts and confidential data. An attacker exploiting this flaw would just need to have knowledge of where administrative forms are stored within the web directory (trivial to find). Successful exploitation leads to the user gaining administrative access to the application.

Solution

Upgrade to version 6.2.2 or higher.
