Synopsis

The remote SSH server may be affected by an access user enumeration vulnerability.

Description

The installed version of OpenSSH is prior to 7.8 and is affected by a user enumeration vulnerability due to not delaying bailout for an invalid authenticating user until after the packet containing the request has been fully parsed, related to auth2-gss.c, auth2-hostbased.c, and auth2-pubkey.c.

Solution

Upgrade to OpenSSH 7.x version 7.8 or later.
