Linux Distros Unpatched Vulnerability : CVE-2026-50265

high Nessus Plugin ID 318812

Synopsis

The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed with a vulnerability that the vendor indicates will not be patched.

Description

The Linux/Unix host has one or more packages installed that are impacted by a vulnerability without a vendor supplied patch available.

- A flaw was found in libinput. A local attacker with access to /dev/uinput can inject arbitrary udev properties through the libinput-device-group helper. This injection can lead to root code execution, for example, by exploiting REMOVE_CMD properties that are executed when a device is removed. This vulnerability allows an attacker to gain elevated privileges on the system. (CVE-2026-50265)

Note that Nessus relies on the presence of the package as reported by the vendor.

Solution

There is no known solution at this time.
