Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for httpd.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2024:2278 advisory.

 - Out-of-bounds Read vulnerability in mod_macro of Apache HTTP Server.This issue affects Apache HTTP Server:
 through 2.4.57. (CVE-2023-31122)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL httpd package based on the guidance in RHSA-2024:2278.
