Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing a security update for libsndfile.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the RHSA-2024:2184 advisory.

- Multiple signed integers overflow in function au_read_header in src/au.c and in functions mat4_open and mat4_read_header in src/mat4.c in Libsndfile, allows an attacker to cause Denial of Service or other unspecified impacts. (CVE-2022-33065)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the RHEL libsndfile package based on the guidance in RHSA-2024:2184.
