Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 40 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FEDORA-2023-2aa09dd8d8 advisory.

 - A template injection flaw was found in Ansible where a user's controller internal templating operations may remove the unsafe designation from template data. This issue could allow an attacker to use a specially crafted file to introduce templating injection when supplying templating data. (CVE-2023-5764)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected ansible and / or ansible-core packages.
