Synopsis

The remote Fedora host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Fedora 39 host has a package installed that is affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the FEDORA-2023-7c6c696102 advisory.

- A buffer overflow in websockets in UnrealIRCd 6.1.0 through 6.1.3 before 6.1.4 allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to crash the server by sending an oversized packet (if a websocket port is open). Remote code execution might be possible on some uncommon, older platforms. (CVE-2023-50784)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected unrealircd package.
