Synopsis

A web browser installed on the remote Windows host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of Google Chrome installed on the remote Windows host is prior to 120.0.6099.130. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the 2023_12_stable-channel-update-for-desktop_20 advisory.

- Heap buffer overflow in WebRTC in Google Chrome prior to 120.0.6099.129 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) (CVE-2023-7024)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Google Chrome version 120.0.6099.130 or later.
