Synopsis

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote Ubuntu 18.04 ESM host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the USN-4854-1 advisory.

 - The SSH server implementation of AsyncSSH before 1.12.1 does not properly check whether authentication is completed before processing other requests. A customized SSH client can simply skip the authentication step. (CVE-2018-7749)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected python3-asyncssh package.
