Synopsis

The remote CBL Mariner host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The version of hyperv-daemons installed on the remote CBL Mariner 2.0 host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the CVE-2022-47940 advisory.

- An issue was discovered in ksmbd in the Linux kernel 5.15 through 5.18 before 5.18.18. fs/ksmbd/smb2pdu.c lacks length validation in the non-padding case in smb2_write. (CVE-2022-47940)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
