Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The remote Debian 10 / 11 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the dsa-5075 advisory.

- Minetest before 5.4.0 allows attackers to add or modify arbitrary meta fields of the same item stack as saved user input, aka ItemStack meta injection. (CVE-2022-24300)

- In Minetest before 5.4.0, players can add or subtract items from a different player's inventory.
(CVE-2022-24301)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the minetest packages.

For the stable distribution (bullseye), these problems have been fixed in version 5.3.0+repack-2.1+deb11u1.
