Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application <= 5.4 Arbitrary File System Write (APSB21-76)

high Nessus Plugin ID 153458
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote host has an application installed that is affected by arbitrary file system write vulnerability.

The version of Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop Application installed on the remote Windows host is prior or equal to 5.4. It is, therefore, affected by an arbitrary file system write vulnerability. Creation of a temporary file in a directory with incorrect permissions allows an authenticated, local attacker to execute arbitrary code.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Upgrade to Adobe InDesign version 5.5 or later.
