Synopsis :

The remote Ubuntu host is missing a security-related patch.

Description :

Hector Marco and Ismael Ripoll discovered that GRUB incorrectly
handled the backspace key when configured to use authentication. A
local attacker could use this issue to bypass GRUB password
protection.

Note that Tenable Network Security has extracted the preceding
description block directly from the Ubuntu security advisory. Tenable
has attempted to automatically clean and format it as much as possible
without introducing additional issues.

Solution :

Update the affected grub2-common package.
